Now that you’ve got a site built in your chosen niche, and you’ve been posting fresh unique quality content to it on a regular basis, you now need to encourage engagement from your audience, or in other words get people to leave comments, but how do you make that happen?
Firstly, your post need to be visually appealing, so separate the paragraph every few lines, insert some strategically placed Sub Headings especially if you’ve already hit 1k words with your post. The objective here is to inspire your audience to want to read your entire post but to also have relevant questions to put to you that haven’t already been outlined in your content.
At the end of each of my posts I literally ask my audience if they have had any experience “Good or Bad” with the product and if so, to add a comment at the bottom of the post which will encourage others to do the same, thus creating engagement.
My average word count is probably around 800+ words and if I can get 10 comments with at least 100 hundred words, then I’m straight into a 2000 word post. But where can I go to get these comments and without paying for the privilege
One simple answer is Social Media, and you have ample opportunities there, in fact the very minute I’ve published my post, I immediately post it to my LinkedIn account and my Twitter account, both of them connect me with several thousand members, I then post again on G+ (Google +) which incidentally is taking traffic away from the Monster that is Facebook, personally I don’t have Facebook anymore, may be because I’m only interested in it from a business perspective.
Anyway, the whole point to comments is to engage in meaningful conversation about the integrity of your post and to ALWAYS make sure that YOU have the last word, that way it keep the conversational flow going. Why do we need this to happen?
Because the more content you have on your post, the higher the chance of Search engines putting it on top of page one under numerous keywords. Imagine writing that post today, spending hours on the text / relevant images / an embedded video / and a couple of “Calls to Action” and you easily hit 1000 words. You’ve posted it on all your usual Social Media platform and you get hundreds of visitors. Because you’ve deliberately added a couple of lines at the bottom of your post asking your visitors:
“Have you used this system / Product? What do you think about it yourself? Did you stop using it quickly or has it been good for you?
Please leave a comment below so we can spread the word”
If you read this at the end of a post, there’s much more chance of you leaving a comment than not, isn’t there? I know I would.
When your visitor does leave a comment, it’s imperative that you respond to that quickly while the thought is still fresh in your minds and then ask another question after with a view of getting another response.
Remember this is just a 1-1, imagine 100 comments coming through, that’s another 100 responses going back again.
Now going back to our original word count, if you did hit 1000, which is fine as I said but you’ve been receiving and responding to lots of comments, in a short space of time you could have a word count of 10k all from one post. I do know that some posts online which are products reviews have in excess of 60K words and that’s been since 2014, so think of the potential there
Finally
Now you can see the importance of making and receiving comments to your blog post, will you leave a comment on mine now?
Up until just one year ago, I had no idea about any of this stuff but since I found Wealthy Affiliate Platform, I’ve received the very best education anywhere online or offline and I encourage you to join too and watch your life change for the better in front of your eyes.
By the way, this post now just under 700 words before I wrote this final sentence, how quickly do you think it’ll be 1000 words and then 2000 upwards?
